J-Opinion

So today is J-Opinion, this is where I write about whatever I think is important in the word of movie news. Everything from released movies, upcoming movies, actors, directors, and anything else.

First off, let’s look at released movies…I have to say, this year’s superhero movies were incredibly amazing. Of course I’m taking about “X-men: Days of Future Past, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy”. These movies were eye candy with their stunning visual effects and amazing storylines. In addition, the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle” movie surprised me to be honest, I was expecting it to be VERY bad, but it turned out to be quit funny. However, “Transformers: Extinction” was a disappointment. It didn’t come close to the first Transformers movie. It was too long, and had so many plot holes and illogical storylines.

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” was a real master piece and I think I heard that the man playing “Caesar” could be receiving an Oscar for his incredible performance in CGI. Can’t wait to see the next Planet of the Apes movie in 2016. These are some of the movies that truly WAWed me in 2014.

Now let’s talk about directors, not many people are familiar with many directors but there are a few names that always seem to capture people’s attention. Names like Spielberg, Cameroon, Tarantino, and Nolan. My favorite two directors at the moment are Tarantino and Nolan. These guys always seem to keep me craving their next movie. Nolan keeps making great movies and is on a hot streak. Tarantino has a certain style to his movies, and he has said that he makes all his movies in the same universe, hence the similar styles of all his movies.

Finally, ACTORS! I love my actors just like any normal movie goer, but there are some actors that I just feel bad for. I’m talking about Johnny Depp, a brilliant and talented actor, but lately his movie choices aren’t great and he’s losing star quality. Of course he still is the second highest paid actor in Hollywood, but he should do some action roles, that would put him back on the map. Another actor is Will Smith, the highest paid actor in Hollywood today (around $50 Million per movie), that’s right, CRAZY SALARY. He, also, is falling miserably lately. His latest movies are considered average at most, because he’s too busy promoting his son in other movies. I just hope he can find a great script and go with it

There are many other movies, actors, and directors I want to talk about, but for now let’s stop here. Join me next time on J-Opinion to get the latest scoop on what I think about the movie world.
